As you will notice almost all of the above workouts are fast. Without interpretation they are meaningless.

That is why I will include workout analysis in my Breeders’ Cup Handicapping files that will be posted under Best Bets on Thursday about 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time for Friday’s BC card and at 8:00 PM Friday, for Saturday’s BC card. The reason for the later posting for the Sat. card is the need to look at what occurred on Friday before making decisions about the way the SA Pro Ride is playing.

As a sample here are my notes on two horses from the Friday, Oct. 30 work tab at Santa Anita

* RAINBOW VIEW, a 3-year-old filly prepping for the Ladies' Classic, broke off at the five-furlong pole and was

about four lengths behind a workmate and did catch that rival at the top of the stretch but was under the whip to stay

on even terms to the wire. Galloped out OK, but was second best in this work to a horse who later was identified

as a winning $50,000 claimer. Not likely to threaten G-1 fillies and mares next Friday.

* VENTURA, who won the Filly and Mare Sprint last year on this track, went strongly throughout while never asked for her best under Jose Dominguez. Looks very good and will be fit and ready based on this work.

REMINDER: MY OCT 2009 FREE ACCESS COLUMN IS UNDER ‘FREE STUFF’ AND ‘TRACKMASTER CLUB’ ON THIS WEB SITE. THE SUBJECT THIS MONTH COVERS MOST OF THE MAJOR ISSUES CONFRONTING THE RACING INDUSTRY AT THIS VERY MOMENT. IT ALSO PROVIDES A BACLKDROP FOR THE WORK OF HORSE OWNER SATISH SANAN WHO IS DEDICATING HIS LIFE TO HELPING RESOLVE SOME OF THESE ISSUES.

AQUEDUCT

THIRD RACE. . .ONE MILE ON TURF, MAIDEN 3V YR OLDS AND UP.

First time starter #1 DYNAMOOR is one of three sons of pre potent turf and distance sire DYNAFORMER.

The other two are #4 TIGRESO and #9 WOTAN, both logical contenders along with a son of WAR CHANT

#7 WAR HOOT, who was third in troubled debut. .

Am expecting #1`DYNAMOOR to benefit from his inside post and good overall preparation, but his trainer Jimmy Jerkens is zip for 29 with first timer on the grass.

Slight edge to #9 WOTAN who was third to killer BIG BROWN in career debut two years ago and returned from long layoff to be second at Belmont in turf route at this distance while defeating #4 TIGRESSO in latest. Ace layoff trainer Christopher Clement freshened this one up a bit for a try in a legit two turn mile race on the grass.

$30 WIN #9.

$12 Exactas: 9; with 1,4,7. ($36)

$8 Exactas 4,7 over 9. ($16)

$4 Exacta: 1 over 9. ($4)

Total $86.

KEENELAND, CLOSING DAY
,

SATURDAY OCT. 31,2009

EIGHTH RACE. 1-1/16 MILES, NW3X ALLOWANCE, FILLIES AND MARES.

This is a salty condition that usually will attract experienced stakes horses and there are a few shipping in, or are making their only start of the meet despite having been on the grounds since early October. That said, preference should go to any in form horse who ran well over this tricky Polytrack surface.

#3 PERFECT ROSE has only had four lifetime races, but she won a NW2X allowance over the track with a good speed figure at this distance in a race with 10 horses that came off the turf. Hall of Fame trainer Johnathan Sheppard having one of the best years of his life. Edge from good post with Kent Desormeaux.

$40 WIN. #3

------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------

OAK TREE AT SANTA ANITA PARK

FOURTH RACE. . .ONE MILE ON TURF, MAIDEN 2 YEAR OLDS.

#2 WHISPERING HUSH has run well in stakes company on the Polytrack at Del Mar and the Pro Ride here. Breed fpor grass, good recent works, slight edge over #6 FURTIVE ANGEL, who ships in from Keeneland for Graham Motion after a very good second on that track’s Polytrack.

$40 WIN #2.

$10 EXACTA BOX: #2 AND #6.

Total $60.

----------------------------------------- --------------------

SEVENTH RACE. . .6 FURLONGS, MAIDEN 2 YR OLDS.

#8 CONVEYANCE was scratched last week from post one in a similar maiden race to kill a play and a parlay. Worked well from the gate instead and should now be ready to fire.

#10 DOMONATION was credible second in career debut Oct. 10 for John Sadler and Rosario has good numbers here and with this trainer.

#9 KURO turns back a 1/2 furlong after making a bid in the upper stretch here when Domonation went on by for his second placing. Two works since that race and this will be his third career start.

#6 FIRST ACADEMY is another Bob Baffert trained first time starter with good breeding and good workouts to consider.

$32 WIN #8.

$8 EXACTAS: 8,10; with 8,10,9 6 ($48)

TOTAL $80.
